Visas for foreigners grows by 60%
The demand for visas for foreigners who come to work in Brazil increased by 60% over the past four years. The oil and gas industry, primarily responsible for this increase comes from hiring high quality professionals. Taking advantage of the combination of the crisis in markets such as Japan, Europe and the United States and Brazilian economic growth, companies bring experienced professionals to help improve exploration and production of oil and gas.
Reference in the market for foreign visas, the CAS is in the market for 40 years. The company, which pioneered the provision of immigration of skilled foreign workers in Brazil, provides service to all major companies in the oil and gas in the country. For CAS, the oil should not be seen only as an opportunity for profit but to generate wealth for Brazil. To explain more about the company, the company's president, Carlos Augusto Nephew, spoke with reporter Andre Dutra.
What is this result ensures that the CAS in their services? The result is due to a job well done. Instead of thousands of visas and do not look carefully at each case, we seek to operate within our ability to better serve our customers. We performed procedures within the law, examining in each case the purpose of immigration, always trying to maintain a high standard of quality.
What volume of foreigners coming to work in the oil and gas in Brazil? The volume of foreign nationals who have, since the coming of the oil area in Brazil, which incidentally was one of the pioneers in the offshore sector has long been smaller than the Brazilians. For the future, for example, Petrobras has estimated the creation of more than 18 million jobs by 2020 just to Brazilians. Besides it's not just people who seek abroad, but also technology and know-how.
What is your opinion on the law of domestic content?I think it is very important for the development of the country. Brazil is a very rich country, which needs to exploit this wealth, and for this to happen smoothly we need to be taught the Brazilian people. I think the initiative of the law of domestic content commendable, because in a country that is emerging as a power in world oil as Brazil there must be education of our people to be prepared to deal with that reality.
How do you think the law of local content will affect the acceleration of the pre-salt exploration requested by President Rousseff?I believe that we will not disrupt flight schedules.
How important is the coming of immigrants to work in this industry?Immigrants are very important for us to increasingly exploit our wealth effectively, it is very important to have a mix. Immigrants come to bring experience and technology, which is just very important for us to accelerate the exploitation of our wealth. Brazil has been receiving a large volume of investment, not only in the oil and gas, but also because of major events like the World Cup in 2014 and the 2016 Olympics, and this has to be prepared, not only caring labor, but empowering our people to increasingly explore ourselves our wealth. Immigration is to add efforts, such as happened in the United States, a country that was built by immigrants, absorbed technologies and is among the major powers for years.
Do you think that Brazil will be able to exploit their wealth and grow as a country?I am convinced that Brazil has all the capacity to do so. But we can not preach the development at any cost, we must educate our people so that we can maintain what we're building right now. I believe that this development is natural for Brazil and will occur in harmony in the country. The Brazilian has an inventive spirit and is sure to find the best formula for this development, Brazil deserves it.
